7.3. Printer Settings: Hatch

Hatch is a program that will facilitate unmediated printing to multiple printers, sharing of workstation settings, and, eventually, offline transactions.

Hatch may greatly improve in 3.3.

Hatch only works with Chrome. It does not work with Firefox or Explorer.

To use Hatch you must--

Install a java runtime environment version 8 (or higher) if not already installed


Download the Web Staff Client Extension ("Hatch") from the Evergreen Downloads page


Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions

Enable Developer Mode along the top right of the page

Click the Load Unpacked Extension button

Load the directory at Hatch → extension → app, found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Hatch\extension\app

Once Hatch is installed on your workstation, you will need to enable it in Evergreen. To do that go to:

Administration → Workstation Administration → Print/Storage Service ("Hatch") and choosing which services to use with Hatch. This page will also inform you that hatch is connected.
