5.2. Welcome Email: Does Your System Send One?

Many SPARK Libraries have set up a Welcome Message for patrons.

When a Welcome Message is created for your location, within 2 minutes of saving a newly created patron registration with a valid email address, your patron should receive an email that welcomes them to use the Library and all of its services.

Ask if your location has this feature implemented.

If you want this feature implemented for your location:

There are some custom options, some locations want a different message for children or adults, but sometimes simple is best and easiest to explain.  Some locations want to send the barcode.  Some send links to policies or websites.  Some advertise for special services.  It's up to you what your Welcome Message says.

Below is a sample of a Welcome Message I received when I signed up for a library card at a SPARK member library:

Note:  It landed in my JUNK MAIL folder, so I didn't get a notification of a new message received, but I had to look for it later.
