1.3. Adding heat to a Bug

How to “add heat” to a bug in Evergreen

If you have found a bug in Evergreen and you want to see it resolved, the best way to make that happen is to “add heat” on the Evergreen Launchpad site.  The more “heat” a bug has, the more prominent it becomes in the Evergreen community.  Bugs that affect higher numbers of Evergreen users are more likely to be targeted to be fixed or developed.

Here are the steps that you should follow to add heat to a bug:

  1. Go to https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen

  2. If this is your first time using Launchpad, click “Log In / Register” and follow the steps to create an account.
  3. Search for your bug using general keywords.
  4. To verify that a search result is pertaining to the bug you want, click the title.
  5. Confirm that the bug affects you.  Click where it says “This bug affects X people”, and then click “Yes, it affects me”.
  6. Click where it says “You are not directly subscribed to this bug’s notifications”.  Then click “Receive all emails about this bug”.

  7. If you want to leave a personal comment, scroll down, enter your text, and click “Post comment”.
