Email Notification wish list!

Remember when you first migrated onto SPARK?
Did you have a list of notifications you wanted to set up?
Did you have specific formatting or wording needs?
Can SPARK have a simplified set ready to go for each new migration to make this step easier?

Some suggested start-up notifications:
Welcome message and email notice test (investigate the suggestion one for in-person sign-up and one for Pending Patrons, Different message for Juv than for Adult?)

Account expiring soon
Library items due soon (rename from Courtesy? Where did that word come from (It was used in Sierra maybe?)
1st Overdue Notice
2nd Overdue Notice
3rd Overdue Notice
Bill for a lost item
Requested item ready

Optional:
Fines near account threshold
Account sent to Collections Agency (except juvenile accounts?)
Auto-renewal (if using this option)
Missing parts notice (is this possible depending on the workflow?)
Damaged (is this possible depending on the workflow?)

What about HOLD notifications? Once our holds were not going out for over a week, what a mess. If we had this notification we would have found it out earlier in the process.

This looks awesome. I love the idea of a email notice test.

Hi Karen,
Holds are a must, yes!
I called them "Requested item ready" because we are having a conversation in our library right now about library jargon and how it affects patrons.

You can talk to Carrie about setting a way to monitor your notifications sent out. They are not straight forward methods because you are supposed to be able to "trust the system," but they do work.

The simplest option, I think, is that you have a separate email for all the notices sent to be Carbon Copied to, and then you check on it regularly there.

There are a few notices that I type from scratch that would be awesome if they could automate them. You covered a few above, damaged item return, last notice before registered letter, & last notice before magistrate.
One thing I would love to have would be a reminder note about holds. I feel maybe one notice halfway through the hold time would cause more holds to be picked up. Not sure if that is a pipe dream or not.
I would also love to re-word the notices we do have, especially pertaining to the overdue notices. We don't follow (to the letter anyway) the same policies that are outlined in the third notice, especially since it sounds like this is it, you've been charged for the item and that's that. It makes no mention to the registered letter and magistrate follow up.

Sorry for the double post - it was coming back with an error message and I didn't think it went through.
